Jaipur

The Pink City is a favourite of young backpackers as it has the most Instagrammable palaces, gigantic forts, glittering markets, and oh-so-tasty street food. The capital city of Rajasthan is a bustling city with so many places to visit in Jaipur, like Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, and Jaigarh Fort.

 

The city palace is an amalgamation of Mughal and Rajput architecture, which is so gigantic that no traveller can see its beauty in one go. The major highlight is the local bazaar of Jaipur, which comes alive after sunset. It is one of the best places to visit in Rajasthan. 

Jaisalmer

Famously deemed the Golden City, Jaisalmer is a place where the beautiful sights will amaze with their captivating charm. Located on the fringes of Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is house to so many must-visit attractions.

 

However, the dominating feature is the still-alive Jaisalmer Fort or Sonar Qila, which is still home to several families, private residences, shops, and restaurants. There are so many places to visit in Jaisalmer.

Udaipur

Udaipur is renowned as the City of Lakes, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the major attractions of Udaipur are serene and mesmerizing lakes. The largest lakes in Udaipur, Fateh Sagar, and Lake Pichola are artificial lakes, but they are no less Instagrammable than any other lake. Amongst the best places in Rajasthan to visit is the Udaipur City Palace, a collection of painted Havelis, gardens museums.

 

Visitors can also pay a visit and admire the royal residences, old temples, and art collections inside the City Palace. The landmark of the city is the Jagdish Temple, located in the northern part of Udaipur. It is undoubtedly one of the best places to visit in Rajasthan.  

Jodhpur

The Blue City of Rajasthan is situated at the end of the Thar Desert. Jodhpur’s Blue City nickname comes from the blue-coloured buildings and houses found in the city. Filled with old temples and mighty forts, Jodhpur is one of the top tourist places in Rajasthan to visit.

The Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur is the largest in all of Rajasthan. A visit to the Mehrangarh Fort should be on your travel itinerary to Jodhpur. The fort houses a majestic mirrored hall, Zanana Deodi, and Chamunda Mataji Temple. The costumed people at the premises will keep you entertained with interesting stories of old Kings and Queens.

Pushkar

Pushkar is one of Rajasthan's most religious and vibrant cities, with a holy lake in the centre. It attracts tourists from India and beyond because it is home to the only Brahma Temple in the world. The Holi celebration of Pushkar is unmatched by any other destination.

 

The best time to visit Rajasthan is during the Camel Fair, organized in Pushkar. Being one of the five sacred Dhams for devout Hindus, Pushkar is dotted with temples devoted to Lord Vishnu, Goddess Savitri, and Lord Shiva.
