Pushkar Lake

Pushkar Lake, as described in Hindu mythology, holds significant religious and cultural importance. The legend of a lotus falling from Lord Brahma's hands and giving birth to the lake makes it a sacred site associated with creation itself. The lake is considered one of the Panch Sarovars (Five Lakes), with Man Sarovar, Bindu Sarovar, Narayan Sarovar, and Pampa Sarovar being the other four.

Pushkar Lake is particularly revered among the Panch Sarovars, and it is believed that taking a bath in its waters during Kartik Poornima, especially during the Pushkar Fair, can absolve sins and cure skin diseases. The lake is man-made, created by constructing a dam, and is located amidst the scenic surroundings of the Aravalli range, with hills and desert encompassing it.

The lake features 52 bathing ghats, which are steps leading into the water. Each ghat is believed to possess unique medicinal properties, adding to the spiritual significance of the site. Pilgrims and devotees flock to Pushkar Lake, as evident from the presence of over 500 temples along its banks. These temples showcase the rich religious and architectural heritage associated with the lake and attract visitors seeking spiritual solace and divine blessings.

The Jal Mahal is designed in a classic Rajput manner, with pink sandstone in a symmetrical style.
